During this four-day, residential program in Honolulu (stay at the New Otani Kaimana Beach Hotel right outside of Waikiki), teachers learn how to use economic principles to analyze environmental issues. Participants learn how a rational, economic approach to the environment helps students understand the complexity of these issues.
The program is structured as a business conference and incorporates a blend of learning activities including hands-on classroom activities, lectures, simulations and a one-day field trip. All materials and activities have been developed specifically for this program.

The Foundation for Teaching Economics will cover all costs for lodging, registration, materials, field trip / field trip transportation and most meals. A $100 expense honoraria will be paid if lodging is not needed. FTE will not cover round trip transportation to and from meeting site.
