Economics Cadre A Program to Create and Support Teacher Advocates for Economic Education The Economics Cadre trains teachers to empower students to make smart economic and financial choices. Thirty high school teachers from the Hawai`i State Department of Education have been selected to join a cadre of “Economic Champions.” Cadre teachers are receiving specialized training that will allow them to assist schools within their complex in integrating economics and personal finance into the classroom. Upon completion of the program in Spring 2009, teachers will: Understand the basic concepts of economics Understand how to teach economics in other subjects Advocate for the teaching of economics within their school complex
By the completion of the program, more than 600 students will demonstrate an increased understanding of economics | | |
